Ramon Lazo: Instructional Designer, Web Developer, Visionary

My name is Ramon Lazo and I am an instructional designer, e-learning expert, multimedia developer and project manager. rl:ID is a design company and a filter through which I can express ideas about the role that technology plays in the improvement of learning. I am interested in helping others to discover the appropriate means to better training and education.  This website is a repository for all my past projects and shows the breadth of the types of content and media that I am able to create.

About this website

About this website...

This website was created using the open-source Joomla! content management system. The latest version is Joomla 3.3.4.  I am also using the the latest awesome technology for template design called T3 Framework, by JoomlArt.  T3 has improved the navigability and function by leaps and bounds on the Joomla! CMS and makes these websites look cleaner and loads faster than ever.  The coolest part about T3 is that there is LOTS of documentation to help you get started and at whatever level you may have with web programming.

Additionally, I am using K2 from JoomlaWorks.  This Joomla! component helps the developer to create new content types for use in the website.  Simply explained, K2 lets the user create new categories with different ways to DISPLAY the content on your website.  I used K2 as a way to develop the framework for this site's Portfolio section.  On the previous version of this site,  I used another portfolio component and was satisfied.  However, K2 provided an easier way to develop content and frankly runs much faster.  K2 has been out for a few years now, but the kind developers at JoomlaWorks finally made a version that is not kludgy and works flawlesly with the latest version of Joomla!

The basic template used for this site is called 'jt_classic2' and was created by the nice folks from jtemplate.ru.  Essentially, it is a modified version of the 'ja_t3_blank' template that JoomlArt gives you when you start to use the T3 Framework but MUCH nicer.

This is the 4TH version of this website since 2006.
